His 57-year-old father was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday night.
Detectives were given more time to question him yesterday and he has since been released on bail until April.
Officers were called to the address shortly before 11pm to reports of a disturbance.
Neighbours said they heard fighting before police arrived.
The father was treated for cuts to his face and neck before his arrest.
A post mortem on the man’s son took place at Finchley Mortuary yesterday and police are awaiting further tests to establish a cause of death.
Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Squad are investigating the incident.
