A new weekly farmer’s market opening in Edgware this Friday could be the “start of something big”, for the charity hosting it.
The Larches Trust, which provides support for people with learning disabilities, is opening its hall in Rectory Lane to the roaming farmer’s market.
Organisers say it is the first market of its kind in the area and hope the regular attraction will provide some much-needed publicity for the charity.
Services co-ordinator Ranu Radia said: “We’re hoping for a large turnout and if it proves successful it could be a long term regular feature.”
Produce on sale among some of the 16 stalls include organic vegetables, fruit, cheese and crafts.
The market will be open between 11am and 3pm on Friday at the Larches Community Centre, in Rectory Lane, behind Starbucks.
