Hendon MP Matthew Offord 'will lose seat', according to survey by former Conservative donor Lord Ashcroft
Hendon MP Matthew Offord will lose his seat at the next general election, if a recent survey proves accurate.
The Conservative politician was named among six London MPs who would lose out to Labour in 2015 if results go the same way as the recent poll.
The survey of 1,113 Londoners, carried out by former Tory party donor Lord Ashcroft, showed a five per cent swing from the Conservatives to Labour in the capital.
If the sample proves correct, Mr Offord would lose his seat based on 2010’s election results, in which he beat Labour’s Andrew Dismore by a slim margin of 106 votes.
Mr Dismore, now the London Assembly member for Barnet, announced last week his intention to stand again at the general election in 2015.
The London figures were part of Lord Ashcroft’s nationwide survey in which 19,000 people were questioned in 213 constituencies.
