An inquest has been opened into the death of an exchange student found dead near an allotment plot in Mill Hill last week.
Suphi Yildiz, 17, was found hanging from a tree on wasteland between the Daws Lane Allotments and the A41 Watford Way on Thursday morning.
The Swiss teenager was on an exchange programme with a school in Westminster and was staying with a family in Mill Hill at the time of his death.
He had been reported missing to police on Monday, March 4, and is not believed to have been seen since the previous Friday.
Two female council workers made the discovery during a survey of the allotments with plot holders shortly after 11am.
An inquest into the student’s death was opened yesterday at North London Coroner’s Court and adjourned until October.
