Hendon MP Matthew Offord has dismissed a recent poll suggesting he will lose his seat at the next general election.
The Conservative politician was named among six London MPs predicted to lose their seats in 2015 in a survey gathered by former Tory party donor Lord Ashcroft.
The poll of 1,113 Londoners predicted a five per cent swing to Labour in the capital, meaning Mr Offord would lose the vote he won in 2010 by just 106 ballots.
But the 43-year-old said: “Polls, particularly in mid-term, I don’t think tell you a great deal. People will often say they don’t like the Government to make themselves feel better.
“In the surveys being done now that really drill down to the details, like who people want to be Prime Minister, people are saying David Cameron and on the economy people are always saying they trust the Conservatives more than Labour.
“I think in two years' time when it comes to the election, people will go with the Conservatives.”
