A 15-year-old playwright will have her script read by professional actors at the National Theatre after her work was chosen from 300 entries in a competition.
Holly Bishop, from East Barnet School, entered her play Framed in the National Theatre’s annual 'New Views' writing competition for 15 to 19-year-olds earlier this year.
The talented writer was astounded to hear she had been chosen as the winner by a panel made of a professional playwright, director and author.
Students in the programme follow an online playwriting course written by Jemma Kennedy, with additional contributions from celebrated playwrights including Richard Bean, David Hare and Katori Hall.
Holly will now hear her play come to life at a rehearsed reading at the National Theatre in July.
