Sounds of the North Finchley Rock Chorus will set walkers on their way at first North London Hospice Twilight Walk
A rock choir will be stepping in time to the beat at the start line of a new charity walk next month.
The North Finchley Rock Chorus will set participants on their way with some pop classics at the first ever Twilight Walk organised by the North London Hospice.
Organisers are still looking for people to sign up to the seven-mile sponsored stroll, which starts and ends at Finchley Rugby Club in Summers Lane.
All money raised will go to the hospice, which provides palliative care for people with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.
Rock Chorus member Michelle Bennett experienced the work of the hospice when staff cared for her father before he died 18 years ago.
She said: “My father had a very rare disease called Shy Drager Syndrome and was only 58 years old.
"He stayed in the North London Hospice on several occasions so that my mother could have respite and some rest.
“They treated him with much care and attention and during the time he spent there, he was happy and made very welcome and comfortable.
“The work they do for them terminally ill and others, is fantastic.”
To sign up for the walk, visit the hospice's website www.northlondonhospice.org or telephone 020 8446 2288. Registration costs £20.
