The Times Series was banned from attending matches at The Hive by Barnet Football Club on Tuesday, threatening to end more than 100 years of coverage.

However, 20 hours after being informed of the decision by the club’s press officer Oscar Chamberlain on Tuesday evening, we were told the ban had been lifted.

That statement was made by Barnet Football Club’s HR manager Steve Barron in an email who wrote: "Barnet FC will continue to welcome your sports writer to attend and report on matches at The Hive."

It came after Mr Barron emailed the newsdesk claiming the football club’s solicitors would be taking action following our article on Friday, which revealed staff had been deducted money from their wages.

As the Times Series went to press we were trying to establish who initially banned us and who lifted it.

During the temporary ban this newspaper received a number of messages of support from Barnet Football Club’s loyal fans and we would like to thank for them for their support.
