Students sign up to help older people become tech-savvy with Age UK Barnet
Sixth form students across the borough are teaming up to help older people become computer savvy.
Following its success last year Age UK Barnet is once again preparing to set up its MiCommunity project in time for the new school year.
With the help of schools in Grahame Park, Brent Cross, Mill Hill, Hendon, Finchley and High Barnet, the charity will provide free one-to-one tuition.
Last year more than 200 older people went back to the classroom, with 160 pupils helping them get to grips with technology during their free periods, at lunchtimes and after school.
They worked together on desktop computers, laptops, iPads, Kindles, mobile phones and cameras learning new skills and making friends along the way.
