Peter Sheen and Patrick McLaughlin jailed for planning burgling spree in Barnet
Serial burglars who planned to target homes across Barnet have been jailed for four and a half years.
Peter Sheen, 55, of Cricklewood Broadway and Patrick McLaughlin, 34, of Harlesden Road, Brent, were seen trying to force entry into two addresses on Thursday, June 27.
They were first seen trying to make their way through a front window in Brondesbury Park before attempting to open a rear window in Cricklewood Broadway.
Officers tracked the pair down and discovered Sheen carrying a crowbar matching both crime scenes.
Police say it was clear at the time of the intervention that the pair was intent on a crime spree committing burglary offences in the boroughs of Barnet and Brent.
The officer in charge of the investigation PC Pedro Alonso said: "Peter Sheen and Patrick McLaughlin are career burglars. They have both previously served long terms of imprisonment for residential burglary offences and are unlikely to change their ways.
“Both commit burglary offences to feed drug habits and criminal lifestyles.”
Sheen and McLaughlin pleaded guilty and were both sentenced at Harrow Crown Court last Friday to four and a half years for residential burglary and attempted burglary.
