Hendon MP Matthew Offord re-selected Offord re-selected as Conservative parliamentary candidate for Hendon
Hendon MP Matthew Offord will fight to retain his seat at the 2015 general election after achieving re-selection by the Conservative Party.
The Tory politician received a majority vote among the Hendon Conservative Association's executive members who turned out to the party meeting last night.
Association chairman Val Duschinsky refused to divulge how many of the 24 executive members attended, though she confirmed several had sent apologies.
Mr Offord’s re-selection means he will square up against Labour politician Andrew Dismore, the man he ousted from the Hendon seat in 2010.
Mr Offord was in Parliament this afternoon but said in a statement: “I’m very pleased to be re-selected by my association.
“The next election will be one of the most important for the country as we seek a Conservative government rather than a union-led Labour/Unite coalition.”
