Gang seen loitering outside Asda moments before Grand Theft Auto robbery in Colindale
Detectives want to trace a gang of males who were loitering outside a Colindale supermarket just minutes before a man was violently robbed of the new Grand Theft Auto V computer game.
The six-strong group, two of whom were on bicycles, were hanging around outside the Capitol Way exit of Asda supermarket on Tuesday, September 17.
They were there for approximately an hour from midnight and were seen to approach a number of people who were passing.
At 1.22am police were called to the junction of Princes Avenue and Stag Lane nearby, where a 23-year-old had been hit with a brick and stabbed.
Robbers had stolen his computer game, which he had just bought at Asda, along with his watch and mobile phone.
Paramedics took the man to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “The motive for the attack is unclear at this stage.”
Two boys aged 15 and 16 and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of robbery and have all been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early October.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
