Friern Barnet graduate makes finals of University of Hertfordshire's business competition
A graduate is one step closer to winning £20,000 after reaching the finals of a business start-up competition.
Melanie Stevenson, of Friern Barnet, entered the University of Hertfordshire’s annual business start up competition with her idea Art Therapy4All, an alternative to counselling.
The 51-year-old and her business partner, Caitlin Smail, will pitch her business idea to a panel of judges next week.
She said: “There was really strong competition so I’m truly elated to be a finalist. Winning the competition would help us so much in terms of raising awareness of the business and establishing more projects within the community. We would eventually like to launch a mobile service so the financial support that could potentially come from the competition would help with that.”
