French market comes to East Finchley
Charles De Gaulle once asked how he could govern a country that had 65 varieties of cheese. In East Finchley today, there were 80.
French Market and Friends was held today in the town and will continue this weekend.
As well as offering cheese, the 15 stands lined along High Road served paella, baklava, couscous, olives, tartiflette, garlic, duck, wild boar, foie gras, jams and mustards.
For fans of Italian food, there was also salsiccia and polpetta.
Market manager Terence Mallitt, 27, said: “Every high street is having a really bad time. They’re keen to have us, we get people in.”
