Finchley friends take part in Alzheimer's Society Memory Walk
Friends put their best foot forward when they walked ten miles for a dementia charity.
Ellen Sussams and Jessica Ramsey, of Ballards Lane, Finchley, took on the charity feat last Sunday in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
The annual memory walk took place in Battersea Park and hundreds of people, including broadcaster Angela Rippon, took part to help raise money for the charity.
Aspiring actress Ellen, 25, lost her grandfather to dementia a few weeks before his 89th birthday.
She said: “I am well aware of the effect it can have on the whole family. I want to raise money for research for future treatments to ensure there is support out there for others living with the condition.
“Raising the profile of the illness is also very important as there is still a stigma attached to dementia - especially amongst younger people.”
The duo raised £300 in sponsorship money, contributing to an overall total of £125,000.
