Marathon fundraiser for sick little girl supported by Camp Simcha in Hendon is family affair
Four members of the same family raised more than £11,500 for their daughter and niece who was born with severe brain damage.
Evie Bladon has been supported by Camp Simcha since she was born with severe complications last September.
Her father Lee, from Mill Hill, and her uncles Dan Bladon, James Glass and Stephen Fine, ran the Windsor Half Marathon on September 29 to raise money for the Hendon-based charity.
The group collected more than £11,500 in sponsorship, all of which will go towards Camp Simcha’s work supporting young people in the Jewish community who suffer from serious or life-threatening illnesses.
Evie’s father Lee said: “Camp Simcha has provided amazing support to our family since Evie was one month old. We wanted to raise money for this special charity.”
Chief executive of Camp Simcha UK, Neville Goldschneider, said: “We are overwhelmed by the fantastic amount raised by Evie’s dad and uncles, which will help us to continue making that critical difference to families who need us.”
