Police cordoned off a house in Aitken Drive while they carried out their investigation.
A man has been charged with the murder of his 69-year-old mother.
Mohammed Badvie, of Aitken Road, will appear at Hendon Magistrate’s Court today accused of murdering his mother Badri Dabir.
Police were called to an address in Aitken Road shortly after 1.40am on Saturday.
Officers forced entry to the house where they found the “lifeless” body of a 69-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at 2.10am.
A post-mortem examination held yesterday gave cause of death as head injuries.
Next of kin are aware and although no formal identification has taken place, police believe the deceased is Badri Dabir of Aitken Road.
