Sentencing of armed gang that hit bookmakers and homes in Potters Bar and Borehamwood postponed as police make sixth arrest
Five men who pleaded guilty to a string of armed robberies across north London and Hertfordshire have had their sentencing postponed.
The gang, who targeted homes and bookmakers in areas including Potters Bar and Borehamwood, were due to be sentenced yesterday at Harrow Crown Court but the hearing was adjourned until November 8.
Police also arrested and charged a sixth man in connection with the offences on Wednesday.
Ashraful Anan Choudhury, 22, of Crane Avenue, Isleworth was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He appeared at Hendon Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear at Harrow Crown Court on October 21.
The five due to be sentenced next month are:
- David Griffiths, 26, of Croxley Road, Kilburn
- Adrian Virasami, 22, of Woodburn Close, Hendon
- Bilal Shafqat, 23, of Whitefield Avenue, Hendon
- Theo Williams, 23, of Topaz Walk, Hendon
- Stephanie Clifford, 26, of St Helens Gardens, Ladbroke Grove
