Hertfordshire police 'waiting for advice' on whether to charge suspect over White House industrial estate inferno in Potters Bar
Police are still waiting to find out if they can charge a man arrested on suspicion of starting a blaze that destroyed an industrial estate in Potters Bar.
The 68-year-old was detained after the inferno at the White House industrial estate, in Dancers Hill Road, which was left “looking like a nuclear war zone” on July 22.
Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary released the man on bail while further investigations took place, though this has twice been extended.
The suspect, from Welwyn Garden City, was due to answer bail this afternoon but Hertfordshire Constabulary said it was waiting for advice from the Crown Prosecution Service on how to proceed with the case.
A force representative said it was still possible the man could either be charged, released on bail again or face no charges.
