North Finchley Hospice charity shop appeals for volunteers
A charity shop is appealing for more volunteers to lend a helping hand in East Finchley.
Eugenia von Piccardio has been store manager at the North London Hospice shop in High Road for more than 20 years but says she cannot continue to run it single handedly.
The 75-year-old said: “I’m desperate for more volunteers to help out in the shop behind the till and serving customers.
“It’s a really nice and fulfilling thing to do – if people are not working it gets them out of the house and they can meet new people.
“And obviously we’re doing this in aid of the hospice which is an amazing service. No matter who you are, everyone gets the same service whether it’s in their own homes or at the hospice.”
North London Hospice has sites in Woodside Avenue, North Finchley and Enfield where it cares for people with life-limiting illnesses.
