East London NHS Foundation awarded Barnet's speech therapy contract
Speech therapists from east London have taken over a contract to treat children living in Barnet.
East London NHS Foundation Trust was successful in a bid to run the service for the London Borough of Barnet, which came into effect on October 7.
Last week, the team from Barnet met staff from east London to discuss their roles.
There will be no disruption to the current services provided and children currently seeing therapists will continue to have their appointments in a centre close to where they live, or at school.
Dr Robert Dolan, chief executive at East London NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are delighted to have won this contract and are looking forward to working with staff in Barnet.
“We are committed to delivering the best possible service for the local community and to ensure young people who need support get what they need.
“We look forward to working with our new colleagues to learn from each other and use our respective experience to provide a high quality service to families in the borough.”
