A new exhibition will be launched in Hendon to celebrate the role black RAF personnel played in the two World Wars.
Pilots of the Caribbean: Volunteers of African Heritage in the RAF will be formally opened by Baroness Floella Benjamin on Friday, November 1 at the RAF Museum in Grahame Park Way.
Black people from the Caribbean, Africa and Britain volunteered to serve in the Royal Air Force during both the First and Second World War.
The exhibition, curated in partnership with the Black Cultural Archives, will tell the story of these volunteers, commemorating their contribution to the defence of Britain.
