Driver charged over six-car crash at Stirling Corner between Edgware and Borehamwood
A driver arrested over a serious crash at Stirling Corner has been charged with driving without a licence or insurance.
Hailey Combes, of Park Road, New Barnet, was also charged with aggravated taking and driving away following the crash on Friday.
The 27-year-old was detained after the collision involving six cars on the northbound carriageway of the A1 Barnet Way, on the approach to the Stirling Corner roundabout, at 8.30am.
A 30-year-old woman was rushed to the major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital in central London, while a second woman in her fifties was taken to Barnet Hospital with minor injuries.
Both have since been discharged - one with a broken left wrist and whiplash and the other with a cut to the right ear and a sore shoulder.
The northbound carriageway was closed for several hours between Apex Corner and Striling Corner, causing delays to rush hour traffic in the Edgware and Mill Hill areas.
Ms Combes has been bailed to appear at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on November 8.
