A 35-year-old man charged with kidnap has been remanded in custody.

Clayton McKenzie, 35, from High Street in Harlesden, was charged in connection with an incident in which shots were fired at police officers during a suspected kidnapping.

Police tried to stop a vehicle near junction four of the M1 at approximately 12pm on Saturday, November 16.

They chased the car into Broadhurst Avenue in Edgware, where two men got out.

Shots were fired at police officers but no one was injured.

A third man, who is believed to have been kidnapped, was found inside the vehicle. He was not injured.

Mr McKenzie is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on February 4 next year.

David Rhoden, 28, from Flowers Close, Neasden, has been charged with kidnap, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and attempted murder.

Mr Rhoden has been remanded in custody before he is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on December 12.
