Royal Mail has donated cash to make sure nobody has to spend the Christmas period alone.
The postal firm gave £10,000 to the Abbeyfield Society, based in Donaldson Lodge, Manor Road, Potters Bar.
The money will help support the charity’s Coping at Christmas campaign, in which the home will open its doors to older people who would otherwise be alone over the festive break.
From Christmas Eve to January 4, the homes will be offering a festive lunch or dinner, and an overnight stay to combat the isolation some feel over Christmas.
