Children's ward patients had an early Christmas surprise when they received a visit from Barnet FC footballers.

Players from the club dropped into Barnet General Hospital in Wellhouse Lane with a special delivery of presents.

Pupils from the Latymer School, Edmonton, also visited the children to help officially open the hospital’s new Galaxy Ward for children and visit the Starlight neo-natal unit.

Head of children’s nursing Nicky Evans said: “It was great to see the team come along and visit the children and babies. It really brightened the day for the children and parents, and the staff really enjoyed seeing the team as well.”
