Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers officially reopened Barnet Post Office after it extended its opening hours in the run-up to Christmas.
Ms Villiers visited the branch in High Street, which is now open an extra five hours each week before Christmas, serving customers from 8.30am to 6pm Mondays to Fridays and 9am to 5.30pm on Saturdays.
She said: “Barnet Post Office is a brilliant service for the community and it’s fantastic to see that the team here are doing so much for people at what can be a very busy and often stressful time of year.
“The extended opening hours mean people have more choice about when they pop in, and that can make all the difference for people on the go, with that extra bit of time in the mornings and evenings.”
The Post Office has been refurbished over recent months, with the addition of open-plan counters and a consultation room where customers can get advice on financial services.
