A campaign has been launched to help keep Barnet's vulnerable people warm this winter.

As part of Barnet Council’s Winter Well campaign, posters will be displayed in GP surgeries, hospitals and community centres and thermometer cards will also be available to help people determine the temperature of the room they are in.

Leaflets, along with the council’s website, also provide a range of tips on keeping well this winter including the best ways to keep warm, information on flu jabs and advice on checking on vulnerable family and neighbours.

Residents struggling to keep their homes warm could be eligible for help on funding the cost of making their home more energy efficient or to repair a heating system. To find out, contact Energise Barnet on 020 8370 0270 or email info@energisebarnet.org.uk

Councillor Helena Hart, Cabinet member for public health, said: “While the weather hasn’t been as severe as in previous winters so far, it’s still important that people take care of themselves and others over the coming months.”
