Police cordoned off a house in Aitken Road while they carried out their investigation.
A man accused of murdering his 69-year-old mother will appear in court in the new year.
Mohammed Badvie, 42, of Aitken Road, Barnet, was due to appear at the Central Criminal Court today, but the case has been adjourned until January 10.
Police were called to an address in Aitken Road shortly after 1.40am on Saturday, October 5.
After forcing entry to the house, officers found the body of Badri Dabir, who was pronounced dead at 2.10am. A post mortem gave the cause of death as head injuries.
