A man arrested after a teenager was hit by a car on a dual carriageway has been re-bailed by police.

The 17-year-old was crossing the northbound side of the A1 Great North Way, at the junction with Tenterden Drive in Hendon, when he was hit by a red Nissan Micra on the morning of Friday, October 25.

The boy was rushed to the major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital in central London with head, chest and pelvic injuries but police say he escaped life-threatening or life changing damage.

The male driver of the car was arrested at the scene before being released on bail while further investigations were carried out.

He answered bail earlier this month but was bailed again by police until early April while the investigation continues.
