Designer handbags worth thousands of pounds are likely to be sold on the black market after they were stolen from a garage in Potters Bar.

Police believe the limited edition Krrug handbags will be sold quickly after several dozen were taken during a break-in last month.

Officers have not revealed the location of the garage for security reasons but say it was broken into some time between Tuesday, December 10, and Sunday, December 15.

The “extremely rare” bags were bought by an independent online seller for a total of £3,000 but the items retail at many more times that price.

PC David Mitchinson, investigating the theft, said: “These are extremely rare and identifiable designer bags which the thieves will be looking to sell on quickly.”

Police want to speak to anyone who knows anything about the break-in, or who may have seen the bags for sale.

Anyone with information can contact PC Mitchinson at Hertfordshire Police on the non-emergency number 101.
