A warehouse in Barnet could be demolished to make way for new homes, if plans are approved this evening.
Developers have applied to knock down the warehouse in St Wilfrid's Road and build a terrace of three houses with rooms in the roof and basement.
Five letters of objection have been sent to the council raising concerns about the proposal causing loss of light to nearby homes, gardens being too close to adjoining properties and construction works and drilling that could affect foundations of buildings in the area.
Some have also complained that three-four floor storey houses are not in keeping with neighbouring properties which are generally two-storey.
But one letter of support has been submitted, claiming the warehouse is “unsightly" and needs to be demolished, and that the new homes would provide “useful” accommodation and be an “improvement to the local area”.
The council’s east area planning sub-committee will consider the plans at tonight’s meeting at Hendon Town Hall in The Burroughs at 7pm.
