Mill Hill man completes five-day cycle in Israel to raise money for children's hospital
An energy broker completed a five-day cycle challenge in Israel to raise money for a children’s hospital.
Joey Kolirin, of Mill Hill, cycled an average of 50 miles per day to raise more than £6,500 for Alyn hospital in Israel.
The 28-year-old said: “I wanted to do a personal fitness challenge while making money for charity. The hospital looks after disadvantaged children who have all sorts of problems and helps them to rebuild their lives.
“They do everything they can to help. For example, if a child has no legs but really wants to learn to play football they will make sure, one way or another, they will be able to play one day. It’s a really amazing place.”
While Mr Kolirin was in Israel, he visited the hospital to see how his sponsorship money would be put to good use.
He said: “It was great to meet the children and knowing that every pedal I took was helping change their lives.”
Mr Kolirin’s colleagues at Full Power Utilities in High Street, Edgware, sponsored him as well as the Arcadians committee which supports good causes around the world.
