Sai School of Harrow are the third winners of Broadwalk Shopping Centre’s £500 fund.

Back in November, The Broadwalk Centre in Edgware, opened the third round of their Community Fund Campaign which gives local groups and charities the chance to win £500 every other month to help enhance their service.

Following a public vote which gave you, our readers, the chance to decide who deserved to be rewarded with the money, we are delighted to announce that Sai School of Harrow are the campaign’s third winners.

Sai School of Harrow is a free Saturday School which was set up 18 years ago by five housewives. They work tirelessly to break down barriers and forge partnership programmes to bring about positive changes and become an inspirational icon for Harrow.

The School, which has recently relocated from Stanburn in Stanmore to Shaftesbury High School, is run by a dedicated team of 40 volunteers and delivers a multi faith and citizenship educational programme to over 300 pupils.

As winners, the school will use the £500 donation to host an event in partnership with Shaftesbury Special Needs High School, where Sai School is currently located, to enable their pupils to buddy up with Shaftesbury pupils and forge long term friendships to bring about positive changes.

Angela Brooks, Centre Manager at The Broadwalk Centre, commented: “Sai School of Harrow received an incredible number of votes from our shoppers, local residents and readers of the Times Series so congratulations to them for winning. Since launching this campaign we have been overwhelmed by the community’s support for their local clubs and groups and we look forward to continuing to receive nominations for future donations.”

The Broadwalk Centre has now re-opened the nominations and is encouraging readers to nominate a group that you feel deserves a £500 donation.

You can write to The Broadwalk Centre’s Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, Stane Court, Stane Street, Billingshurst, West Sussex, RH14 9HP or email The closing date for nominations is Sunday 26th January 2014.
