Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers has shown support for Holocaust Memorial Day by signing the Book of Commitment in the House of Commons.
The book honours victims of the Holocaust and is used as a symbol of commitment to combating prejudice and anti-Semitism.
Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on Friday, January 27, with events held across the borough and the country marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.
Ms Villiers said "It is vital that we never let the Holocaust be forgotten so we can continue to honour the memory of its millions of victims and so we have a permanent reminder of the horrific consequences that prejudice, anti-Semitism and racism can lead to."
“It has a special resonance for us in Barnet because our borough is home to a number of very brave men and women who survived Nazi persecution and the death camps. Many other residents lost close friends and family members in this tragedy."
