People can have their say about the new ‘Charter for Barnet’, which will help shape the way the area is run.

The charter has been developed with Barnet Borough Council and the voluntary and community sector.

In April 2013, the authority was restructured to become a 'commissioning council', meaning it would buy in services to help it meet the challenges posed during tough economic times.

Councillor Robert Rams, cabinet member for customer access and partnerships, said: “This charter sets out six fundamental principles shared by the council and our partners in the voluntary and community sector.

“The need for a strong and productive relationship between the council, the voluntary and community sector and local residents has never been greater, and this represents a vision for how our shared values and aspirations will shape the way we work together.”

The consultation ends on January 31, 2014.
