The witness list for an inquest into the death of an elderly couple who were found dead after a house fire was agreed at a hearing today.

A pre-inquest review at North London Coroners Court into the deaths of Argyrios Siokos, 69, and his wife Chloe Siokos, 80, agreed the witness list for the inquest which will be heard in July this year.

The bodies of the two were found at their home by firefighters called to tackle the blaze in Fallow Court Avenue, North Finchley in January 2013.

Thirty firefighters spent two hours tackling the fire and the couple were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later said Mrs Siokos had other injuries inconsistent with the fire being the cause of death and revealed Mr Siokos could have murdered her before starting the fire.

During today’s hearing Coroner Andrew Walker agreed the witness list with family members and their barrister.

Witnesses will include the London Fire Brigade, the Metropolitan Police, family members and neighbours of the couple.

It was also revealed that the court and members of the family were still waiting for a domestic homicide review to be released to them by the Home Office.

The inquest is scheduled to start on July 29 and is due to last up to three days.
