East Finchley and Hampstead Garden Suburb are among the most burglary prone areas in the UK.
Both take fifth place in the top 20 postcode districts where people are most likely to claim for theft on their home insurance.
The research, collected by MoneySuperMarket, looked at 3.1 million home insurance quotes on the site over 12 months.
Kevin Pratt, home insurance expert at MoneySuperMarket, said: “Just because somewhere is named a claim hotspot it doesn’t actually mean the area in question is not a nice place to live.
"Thieves often target areas with wealthy residents and desirable properties where the rewards are potentially greater, or quieter areas where they think there is less risk of being caught red-handed.”
Among other north London areas, Totteridge, Whetstone and Oakleigh Park ranked 14th on the list.
