A van smashed into metal barriers and traffic lights at a pelican crossing in East Barnet last night.
The white vehicle caused heavy damage to the central traffic island, used as a refuge for pedestrians crossing Brookhill Road, on the border with Enfield.
No-one appears to have been injured in the incident, though London Fire Brigade sent a crew to help clean up spilled fuel.
The Times Series has requested more information from Barnet Police about the collision.
