Conservative MP Theresa Villier will stand for re-election in Chipping Barnet next year after she was given the vote of approval by her Tory peers last night.

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland was reselected to stand at the 2015 General Election by the Chipping Barnet Conservative Association for the third time.

She said: "I am delighted. I very much enjoy my busy programme of work and campaigning in Chipping Barnet on issues such as protecting our green spaces, backing our great schools and supporting local high streets and businesses.

“I am looking forward to the general election campaign and I'll continue to work hard to seek to persuade residents to give me the chance of a third term in Parliament fighting for the interests of Chipping Barnet.

“I would like to thank the Chipping Barnet Conservatives for giving me this opportunity.”

Well she can't be re-elected on the merits of the transport legacy she left in Barnet, one of the worst boroughs in London for traffic, pollution and traffic whilst she was the minister for transport. Northern Irelands not too peaceful these days either. Well done she's doing a great job.

oh good grief!

(1) Transport Department doesn't run Barnet's roads, that's either the local Council or TFL

(2) blaming the Secretary of State for sectarian shenanigans in Northern Ireland is just plain stupid.
