A community organisation is seeking someone who would be able to give up their time to help it manage its money.

Community Action Hertsmere, which covers Potters Bar, is seeking a new treasurer after Chris Watts, who has held the position for many years, announced his intention to retire.

The not for profit organisation gives support and practical help to local community and voluntary groups across the borough and is looking someone who understood accounts to give up their time for free.

Chief executive Heather Walsh said: “This position is an opportunity for a local person to have an active role in making their community a better place.

“The accounts are a bit complicated because, although there is not a lot of money, it comes from a wide variety of different funders.”
