Prince Charming hopes to salsa his way into the hearts of Dancing Strictly judges
A taxi driver will turn into Prince Charming for one night only as he attempts to woo his princess and dance his way into the hearts of this year’s Dancing Strictly judges.
Twenty-four-year-old Darius Belu and his dance partner Andriana Armodorou, 26, hope their romantic salsa will capture the imagination of the audience at this month’s North London Hospice contest.
The pair will go head-to-head with eight other couples for their chance to win their very own glitter ball trophy at the Millfield Theatre in Edmonton on Saturday, February 22.
Andriana, a special needs support worker at the Annunciation Catholic School in Burnt Oak, said: “We thought it was a great idea to combine our love for dance with supporting a really good cause.
"The people who are helped by the hospice and those who support them are all very brave and I really admire them.”
All money raised by the contest will go to the hospice which supports people with life-limiting illnesses.
And dancing duo Darius and Andriana plan to pull out all the stops to get the crowd cheering and delving into their purses for the charity.
Andriana, who lives in Hendon, said: “We’ll be wearing green sparkly costumes to show off a bit – and we’re going to try and tell a story with our dance to make it more theatrical.
"Training can be difficult at times but we’re up for the challenge. We hope we’ll win, but if we don’t we will have had a fantastic experience.”
