Grey skies, gale force winds and a seemingly never-ending spell of torrential downpours was broken by the uplifting sight of this double rainbow over Barnet this afternoon.
Yet another heavy lunchtime shower gave way to sunny skies and this mesmerising natural spectacle, which was snapped in Holden Road, Woodside Park.
The colourful twin rainbows offer little hope of a brightening in the weather though, with the Met Office predicting further heavy showers tomorrow morning and through most of Wednesday.
