Post Office workers will put their parcels to one side as they take to the stage for North London Hospice’s Dancing Strictly contest.

Darren Kevis, 44, and Larena Walker, 47, hope to have the judges on the edge of their seats as they perform an energetic cha cha to Jennifer Lopez’s Let’s Get Loud.

Larena, an equipment advisor from Edmonton, said: “The routine is slowly falling into place, so as long as we get through it without any major mistakes on the night I’ll be pleased.”

As well as honing their steps, the pair have also been challenged with raising money for the hospice, which supports people with life-limiting illnesses.

Larena said: “My mum was taken into the hospice in 2008, and she was really happy there. It also took a weight of my mind knowing she was being looked after.

“The staff and volunteers were all really supportive, and my mum ended up being well enough to come home again."

Darren, who is a contract specialist from Bedfordshire, and Larena have already raised £340 towards their £500 target for the hospice.
