A group of five Cub Scouts walked away with ten medals and the main trophy at a swimming gala after entering for the first time.
The young swimmers from the 8th Barnet Cubs stole the show at the Barnet District Cub Scout competition, at Copthall Leisure Centre, on Saturday.
The pack, which meets at their St Albans Road Scout hut in High Barnet once a week, were taking part in the sixth annual gala featuring fourteen cub packs from across the borough.
Despite having one of the smallest teams with just five swimmers, every one of them came away with a medal, as well as the winner’s shield.
Leader Jen Butcher, the pack's Akela, said she was “gobsmacked but delighted”.
