Controversial councillor Brian Coleman is billed to appear on a public panel alongside a woman he physically assaulted.

The Totteridge representative appears to have agreed to attend the ‘Any Questions?’ debate and has appeared on the billing for the event next month at Friern Barnet Community Library.

Café owner Helen Michael, who was attacked by Councillor Coleman during a parking row in 2012, said last week she had invited the expelled Conservative politician to the panel on the agreement she would drop a defamation claim against him.

Former Barnet Mayor Cllr Coleman refused to publicly comment on the offer but emailed his availability to organiser Keith Martin and has now been named on the advertised line-up.

The ex-GLA member is due to appear on the panel, chaired by Barnet Alliance leader Barbara Jacobson, alongside Ms Michael and Labour councillor Kath McGuirk.

Tickets for the debate, at 7.30pm on Friday, March 21, cost £5 on the door, money from which will go to supporting the community library.

The next ‘Any Questions?’ event takes place on Friday, February 21, at the same time and place and features Green Party candidate Poppy, Labour Councillor Alan Schniederman and local campaigners Janet Leifer and Peter Storey.
