A teenager from Finchley has been handed a special award for his dedication to the air training corps.

Harry Jaffa was among seven members of the London and Middlesex Wings of the Air Training Corps to be given a Jack Petchey Achievement Award at a ceremony in Kensington on Sunday.

The 17-year-old was nominated by his peers for his involvement in the Barnet Squadron's band and the induction of new cadets, for which he was promoted to the role of instructor cadet

The awards aim to encourage and inspire young people, and Harry took home a medallion, a framed certificate and a cheque for £200.
