Barnet residents have a few more weeks to have their say on a new planning document relating to job development initiatives.

Barnet Borough Council’s new draft skills, employment, enterprise and training (SEET) planning document outlines the area’s approach to delivering work-related services.

The document seeks to ensure that commercially-used land is available to support small to medium sized enterprises. Space-efficient measures are also considered which ensure unused space is used for business needs.

Councillor Joanna Tambourides, Cabinet member for planning, said: “Barnet is a growing and changing borough. New development and regeneration projects provide us with plenty of opportunities for new business and jobs. We want to make sure our local residents benefit from the employment and training these opportunities create.”

The consultation phase for the draft supplementary document is underway and ends 27 March.

The document is available online and from Barnet House, High Road, Whetstone and libraries across the borough.
