Cooking and presenting a full Thai meal has landed a budding chef a spot in the finals of a national competition.

Backed by the Rotary Club of Golders Green, Anthony Sparks, 14, will take his place alongside other talented schoolchildren in this year's Young Chef contest.

After sailing through the Rotary District round Anthony went on to win the Rotary Regional round at The Westminster College of Catering.

Anthony, who goes to The Compton School in Finchley, impressed five judges with his three-course Thai menu.

His food and table lay out were also commended, especially by the head chef at The Ivy who will give Anthony a day to practice his menu ideas with him in preparation for the Rotary Nationwide Finals next month in Dundee.
