A police van that flipped onto its side after smashing into a Porsche in Totteridge was responding to an emergency call, the Met has confirmed.

The van was on its way to a domestic incident in Barnet when it collided with the 911 Carrera in Totteridge Lane, near the junction with Northcliffe Drive, shortly before 2.15pm yesterday.

Two police officers that were travelling in the van were taken to hospital with minor injuries and have since been discharged.

The male driver of the Porsche was treated for shock at the scene.

Barnet Police said it is looking at whether or not the incident will be passed on to the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards for an investigation.
